The Chronicles of HERNIA

Sorry I haven't been around much. I was under the weather for a while and then had to go have a test done to see what the problem was (CT Scan).  They pretty much had their suspicions but they wanted to get an opinion of a surgeon. Well fast forward 3 weeks later and I am still waiting to hear from them. It is definitly hard to concentrate on anything when you are waiting to hear whether you need surgery or not.  So I called them yesterday morning and the lady said she would check and call me back later in the day. So I decided to go get my hair cut. Of course right as I am getting my hair washed my cell rings and it is her. I had to tell her I would call her back because I couldn't hear what she was saying. So the Salon person waited for me to make the call before cutting my hair.

Now I knew surgery was a possibility but i was holding out hope that I didn't need it. No such luck. So once she told me I needed the surgery, I was pretty much in a daze. My hair cutter person could have shaved my head I prolly wouldn't have noticed. It was the wierdest feeling. It was almost an out of body experience.   I have had many surgeries in the past but ever since my emergency surgery to place the trach 3 years ago, I have had a phobia about hospitals and surgeries. So what is pretty routine for most, won't be so simple for me.  I can't get in to see the surgeon until next wednesday, so now all I can do is wait. And of course think and obsess about it!  Not fun!

Other than that, things are going fine. I finally finished the Camp DVD and got it out in the mail to the camp folks. I have gotten some good feedback so I am happy that people have enjoyed them. I definitly want to get this surgery stuff resolved so I can be ready for this year's camp. I would not want to miss it. Best week of my life!

It's been a while....

I haven't really posted much because not a whole lot has been going on.   I did get to spend the weekend traveling around and visiting some of my great friends. I went to Atlanta to see a concert, headed to Birmingham to have lunch with some friends at the Cheesecake factory. Then I headed to MS to spend the weekend with friends there. I went out to eat with about 9 people and then the next day was invited over to someones house for a home cooked meal! There were 10 people over there.  It always depressing to come home after a weekend of being surrounded by people, especially when they are good friends.  This week is totally dull in comparison!   Anyways, hope everyone is doing well!

I KICKED CANCER'S BUTT....IT DIDN'T KICK ME!!!

This month I am celebrating 20+ years of being in remission from cancer!! (I was diagnosed at 10 months old)
I had a SACRALCOCCYXGEAL ENDODERMAL SINUS TUMOR
(say that 3 times fast)

The doctors predicted that I wouldn't survive...and I did!
Then they said I would never walk....and I did!!

This Busy Body has no time to be a BUSYBODY!

So I have been very busy lately and haven't really kept this thing up to date or checked out too many other sites.

Updates on me: 

1. I didn't get the job but I have been keeping busy with plenty of video work

2. Went for my usual check up with my heart doctor and he says I am doing great. This is good news because I had been having some issues with irregular heart beats and palpitations before they started me back on some medicine but since then I have been fine just jumpy at the smallest change in my heart beat. The EKG and ECHO showed everything was fine and he feels like I am doing good.

3. I am trying to plan some trips to visit some friends at some point but matching everyone's schedule is hard to do.

4. Also want to have some parties at my house, We are having a 4th of July party but I am hoping to have one for just my friends, later on in the summer!

Well that is about all, I have to get back to work!
